Knitting Cruise with Romi Hill
Romi Hill is a lifelong knitter, crafter, maker, and seeker of beauty. After falling in love with lace knitting, Romi founded Designs by Romi in 2005 as an internet shawl pin shop. She then moved into knit and crocheted jewelry, having her first of many patterns published in Knitty Magazine. Her first book for Interweave Press (Elements of Style: Knit and Crochet Jewelry with Wire, Fiber, Felt & Beads) soon followed.
She is best known as a designer of lace shawls and garments, and her patterns have appeared in Interweave Knits, Knitscene, Vogue Knitting, Twist Collective, Making, and numerous other books and magazines. Her second Interweave Press book, New Lace Knitting, was published in 2015 and features timeless patterns for garments and accessories. Along the way, Romi’s library of self published patterns has grown to over 140. Her designs are known for their organic flow and knitterly attention to detail.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Romi lives on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Northern Nevada, where the high desert nights are cool and the air is clear and crisp. She loves spicy food, cool breezes, and cowboy boots.
Cruise Details
Prices start at $4259 per person in a double occupancy cabin, which includes port charges and all meals, beverages, and excursions. There are also a very limited number of single cabins available.
A non-refundable deposit of $500 will hold your space. Fill out the form below and Kira Gartner will get back to you with complete cabin and pricing options.
During the cruise Romi will be holding two classes onboard (don’t worry, they will not interfere with excursions!) which will be available for $100 per class; we are also planning a knit-along. Details will be announced closer to the cruise. Other fun activities and excursions are in the works – email kira@blueskydestinations.net to get on the mailing list for updates.
An optional two-night pre-cruise package in Amsterdam will include a visit to the Floriade Expo, which happens only once every 10 years in The Netherlands. Post-cruise packages to Switzerland are also available.
Due to the size of the class space that’s available on the ship, we are limiting the number of knitters who can join us to 30 – so please sign up soon to make sure you don’t miss out!
